Changes

Last night we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant - the kind that has plastic chairs set up on the sidewalk into the street and it's loud and busy and great for people-watching. We were seated near the restaurant door - we love the food here so we knew it would be great. Looked over at the restaurant right next door and saw some animal parts hanging for display while the rest of the animal was being cooked outside on a sidewalk. We noticed pretty quickly the animal was actually dog...the waiter confirmed this for us. And you know what? We sat right down and ate. We were a tad squeamish but stayed and were able to handle it. I think I've been in China too long!

Michelle, we were just talking about this very thing the other day! Did you actually eat the dog??? That was the one thing we (Adam--it was a "man" thing to do in Korea, helped with virility, of all things) could never get ourselves to do. Too, too gross :)

I thought about you guys last night. We had a costume halloween party and had a blast. I'll have to send you some pictures of the food I came up with....lots of fun!
I can still picture the five of you all dressed up in Disney outfits strolling the neighborhood!

We had Beijing Duck, these awesome green beans sauteed with spicy peppers, chicken with spicy peppers, Chinese vegetables (not sure what they're called in English but they look like little bok choys), and eggplant with salty fish. YUMMY FOOD! I love this particular crazy restaurant! Oh - and noodles with tofu strips and seaweed, too. I love Chinese food! - Michelle

Ooooh yuck!

We are learning about South America in school right now and the foods that are popular there. One of the most common is roasted guinea pig. (Joseph has been looking at our poor Teddy with a very mischievous look in his eyes...Julie is not at all pleased.) ;-)
